Venus and Serena Williams Out of Wimbledon 2011 Championships
Today both William Sisters went out of the Wimbledon 2011 Championships in 4th round of the tournament.
Defending Wimbledon champion, Serena Williams was defeated by Marion Bartoli 6-3, 7-6 (6). Earlier Marion Bartoli had reached finals of Wimbledon in 2007.
This was Serena Williams first Grand Slam appearance after a foot injury and subsequent blood clots that put her out of the action shortly after winning Wimbledon championship in 2010.
In today's match, Serena saved three match points at 6-5 in the second set and another in the tiebreaker before Bartoli put down a service winner to advance to the next stage of the tournament.
Venus William was also eliminated in her 4th round match against Tsvetana Pironkova in straight sets. Venus herself has been suffering from a hip injury for five months.
So this year we are in store for some other faces to win the tournament.
