Vettel Wins European Grand Prix 2011 at Valencia, Spain
Valencia, Spain : Defending F1 Champion, Sebastian Vettel today, Sunday June 26, Won the European Grand Prix held at Valencia to extend his lead in the overall standings this season.
Vettel is at the top with 186 points followed by Jenson Button at second place with 109 points.
Already he has won six out of eight races so far this season. Spain`s Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari came at second spot behind Vettel and his Red Bull team mate Mark Webber secured a third place.
The race could be called as some what boring race, as all the drivers fininished the race, a rare ocassion. This was just the third time in Formula One history that all the drivers finished the race.
"Ooooooh yes, baby!" screamed Vettel over his team radio after winning. "That is better than anything you can imagine this year. Yes. Yehhhh!".
Lewis Hamilton for McLaren finished in fourth position whereas Brazilian Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari and Briton Jenson Button, in the second McLaren, finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Nico Rosberg was seventh for Mercedes and Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari came in eighth for Toro Rosso with Germans Adrian Sutil ninth for Force India and Nick Heidfeld 10th for Renault.
Next race will be held at Silverstone - The British Grand Prix from 8 - 10 July 2011.
